Isbrand the Axe

The mark is a short and pudgy and wily as sin. He sticks to crowds and knows his way around the city. Isbrand the Axe follows him all day, painstakingly gaining ground.

Finally the little man hooks a left into an alley. It’s almost too perfect. Isbrand ducks in after him and unslings the big double-bit from his back.

He’s there, waiting with his back to a brick wall. His eyes are glowing silver, and he’s smiling so wide Isbrand can count every one of his many, many teeth.

Just maybe, Isbrand thinks, this will be worth it after all.
